Today I had class and then went to Buckingham Palace. Today was the last day to go inside and see the state rooms. It was extremely impressive. I got to see one of the royal galleries.
It was really neat to see some of Van Dyke, Rembrandt, and Peter Paul Rubens that I have been studying at the National Gallery. Van Dyke was commissioned to paint a lot of portraits of Charles I. I also got to go into the main dining room area while it was all set up for a state banquet. They actually measure from plate to plate where to place everything so that it is all in a straight line. They start setting the table for an event like this on Sunday. The event is on Tuesday. Two days to set a table.
I also saw the music room, two different sitting rooms, and two throne rooms. The decorations were amazing. Everything is covered. The walls have beautiful fabric all over them. The draperies are amazing. I was really excited to see this. Then we got to walk through some of the gardens. The leaves are beginning to change colors. The sky was extremely blue today. We have really lucked out in terms of weather lately.
In the last few days our classes have really begun to start to cross over a lot with each other and the things we are seeing. Its really exciting because you know about the stuff you are going to see.
Tonight I just finished up reading for classes. I also went running in the morning.

oh you look so good and so happy
I have never been inside Buckingham Palace. I am extremely jealous.
Oh, I would love to see Buckingham Palace. I am curious about all things royal. Did they let you take any pictures?
You get to experience fall colors! I am amazed how there are so many trees and parks in London. Sometimes I feel we are paving over nature here in Phoenix to the detriment of us all. Enjoy every sight, sound, smell and wonder that there is in London.!
I am way jealous that you got to go inside Buckingham Palace!! If they let you take pictures, you need to post them! P.S. you're beautiful!
your life is basically amazing! :)
Are you doing your hair curly over there? It looks good. I hope you did take some pictures because all I ever saw was the outside! What a neat opportunity. This is Dee.
You can't take pictures of the inside :(
