The next morning we head for Versailles via the metro. We took a line called the RER and it was a metro with two levels so a double decker metro. I was really disappointed in Versailles. There was scaffolding all on the outside and there was a random modern art exhibit with these aluminum structures in each room that really took away from the feel of the palace. The gardens were all starting to die and we lost a member of our group that had just went with another group but we spent most of the time looking for her. I was really sad about this because I have wanted to see this palace forever and it wasn’t that great. Afterwards we headed back to the city. We walked down the Champs Elysees it was really cool because they were decorating for Christmas. This road ends up at the Arch de Triumph and we took pictures there. We got there and they were getting ready to relight the flame underneath the arc so we had to leave. Then we went to the Latin Quarter where we sat down to eat dinner with the Notre Dame in the back ground. It was really funny to order because no of us spoke French. When we said we were paying with cash has asked us if we like Johnny Cash and we weren’t sure what he was saying. Then we figured it out and it was really funny. Then wondered through the Latin Quarter and headed back to the hotel.

I can just see you getting confused by people speaking french. I'm sorry about Versailles...I remember thinking the gardens were cool but not if they were dying. At least you didn't go with the drunk Europe troupe that asked who was Louie anyway? :)
