We have a new president. When I got the door today the milk man congratulated me it was really strange. It has been really eye opening to see the election from a global perspective. They know so much more about our world than we do about theirs.

We have started watching the news in the morning at breakfast now and its really nice to know what is going on in the world. I also registered for classes today which was really nice because I didn’t have to stay up until midnight because we are on different times.

I only had my history class today so I got some homework done in the morning. After class I went to Westminster Cathedral (not Abbey) it was the firs Catholic church built in England since the Reformation. It was meant to be very grand and a show of the churches power but they ran out of money. So on the inside of the church they only have marble going half way up the walls it was really weird. I didn’t have time for anything else because I had kitchen duty this week and needed to back earlier.

But this day is a very important day its Guy Fawkes Day. He tried to blow up parliament a long time ago. There were only about five of us who didn’t have to stay in for a viewing of Hamlet for Shakespeare so we went to the fireworks. It was really crazy. I have never seen so many people in my life. The tube was insane. They closed the tube stop to get off because of overcrowding. But we made it to the fireworks just in time for the finale and then dash back to the tube stop before the crowds got there. It was a lot of fun.
